General Questions

Where is your store located?

ZuriRose & Co. is based in the beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah.

What is the maximum recommended weight for a baby in your African Moses basket?

Weight should “NOT” be the only factor. It is recommended to stop using the basket when your baby reaches 20LBS or can turn themselves/ rollover to their stomachs. Whatever comes first, you must immediately stop using the basket.

Do you practice Fair Trade?

Yes, we do. One thing many sellers lack is working “directly” with Artisans. They use middle men and call it “Fair Trade”. ZuriRose & Co works directly with 5 women Artisans who are absolutely incredible at their crafts. We believe in their talent, and we applaud their grit. That is why we prefer working directly with them to not only support their craftsmanship but family as well.

Product

Are these authentic African Moses baskets?

Absolutely! Our baskets are 100% authentic and handwoven by our amazing team of weavers in Ghana.

Are mattress pads included with your Moses baskets?

Our baskets do not include mattress pads but we do offer them at an additional cost. These pads are best suited and recommended for our Moses baskets.

Any chemicals used in the fabrication of your baskets?

No chemicals are used in the production of our baskets as we only utilize natural products and dyes.

Will I receive the exact basket pictured?

It is our absolute goal to provide our clients with products that pictured and as described. Please note that due to variance in screen resolution and calibration, colors on each computer or tablet device may slightly vary.

Do you accept custom orders or designs?

Unfortunately we do not. What is provided on our site is what we offer until a new collection arrives.

I unboxed my Moses basket and it appears to be misshaped. Is this normal?

This is completely normal, and most baskets will require you to re-shape them back to their original condition. To accomplish this, simply soak the basket in a tub or spray it wet. Using minimal effort, shape the basket to your liking and let it dry. If your Moses basket contains leather handles, make sure not get these wet.

What materials are used in the making process of an African Moses basket?

Moses baskets are made using eco friendly and harvested straw called elephant grass. With its abundance across the Bolgatanga region, weavers harvest and braid this to create the raw material that makes up a typical African Moses basket. Using natural dye, weavers can customize each basket to their liking and tribal pattern.
